LAMDA success for Oswestry School pupils

Performing Arts makes a significant contribution to the co-curricular life at Oswestry School as a vehicle for expressive learning. We are extremely proud that last term nearly 200 pupils sat a mammoth face-to-face exam session, with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art board.

Pupils aged from Year 2, right the way through to GCSE & A-Level Cohort took exams in Verse & Prose, Public Speaking, Acting and Musical Theatre.

After all of their hard work and efforts, every pupil passed with Merits & Distinctions, and a massive 86% received the top mark awarded!

Miss Thompson, Head of Performing Arts said, "I am so very proud of how our pupils showed resilience and true tenacity and talent in their examinations. From our youngest entries taking their very first exam, to our hugely successful GCSE and A Level cohort, they never once skipped a beat. The exam board later wrote personally to the school, commending the students quality of work and professionalism and thanking us for moving back to in-person exams in a safe manner."

We are currently taking applications for Performing Arts Scholarships in both Music and Drama ready for our Scholarship assessments in January. Performing Arts scholarships can be worth up to 50% of the school fees and are awarded on the strength of the candidate's overall performance across the range of assessments. If you would be interested in a scholarship for your child, please don't hesitate to contact our Registrar, Hannah Owen via email - hannah.owen@oswestryschool.com or call 01691 655711.
